Happy Easter everyone!
Here is my rat, Cadbury, being a cannibal. (No, I didn’t actually let her eat it)
Everyone loves Blue. People who hate or are afraid of rats meet Blue and suddenly they are in love with rats. 4 different people threaten to steal Blue from me whenever they see her. She has some kind of strange magnetic quality about her. Perhaps it’s because she just loves everybody. She’s also a master of mischief, so don’t be fooled by the cute smile for a minute.
My rats are terrified of wandering more than 5 feet away from me, and when they do they always come scampering back. (Aside from Blue and Cadbury, who fear nothing) I only take rats outside if I trust them and myself completely.
When I do rat photoshoots I always have at least one other person with me, more depending on how many rats I have out. (usually just to lure the rats away cause all they wanna do is sit on my lap or trail along by my feet)
I’m more scared of something like a hawk or a snake nabbing them. It’s one of my worst fears. But I grew up watching birds and hiking barefoot and know what to look out for.
I would not advise letting rats run loose outside unless you trust them, yourself, and the area 100%. Watch the sky, watch the ground, have at least two pairs of eyes for each rat. If not, those adjustable string harnesses for rabbits or ferrets work pretty well.

Do not let Angel’s name fool you, she is a trouble maker! She loves exploring and adventuring.
